Detectives from Hounslow are appealing for the public's help to reunite owners with recovered stolen jewellery.
The jewellery was recovered after an intelligence-led operation on 26 July targeting a shop in Hounslow where people were selling stolen jewellery.
Two men, aged 29 and 66, were arrested at the shop that day on suspicion of handling stolen goods. They have been bailed to return until a date in mid-September pending further police enquiries. A third man was arrested on suspicion of the same offence on 4 August and also been bailed.
Items seized by police in the operation at the shop led officers to safety deposit boxes in Southall, later that same day. In two of the safety boxes officers recovered over 560 items of jewellery and around £300,000 in cash.
It is thought that all the jewellery has been stolen during burglaries at a number of different residential addresses across west London and possibly further afield.
The items are largely gold and include a number of distinctive complete collections of Asian wedding jewellery. The estimated value of all jewellery recovered is in the region of £500,000.
DC Aidan Crowe, from Hounslow Crime Squad, said:
"As part of an operation targeting people and places we know to be trading in stolen goods we have recovered a huge amount of jewellery.
"If you have had your jewellery stolen I'd ask you to look at the images and see if you can recognise your items.
"We would love to be able to reunite people with these items, some of which will clearly have huge amounts of sentimental value."
