Officers attended and found the body of a man. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
Police are now appealing for information to help identify the man.
He is described as Asian, aged in his 40s or 50s, short straight black hair, a short greying beard, missing front upper teeth, medium to large build wearing black trousers, black shoes and a dark coloured jacket.
Detective Inspector Rebecca Boyce, of GMP’s City of Manchester team, said: “This happened in a popular park in the morning when people may have been around and seen something."
“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or has any information that can help us identify this man to contact police.”
