Police are appealing for any witnesses to an attempted serious sexual assault in Huddersfield town centre on Saturday.
The incident happened at around 5.41pm on Cross Church Street when an unconscious woman was the alleged victim of an attempted serious sexual assault in a doorway by the Morrisons store.
Detective Inspector Paul Savage of the Kirklees Safeguarding Unit, said:
"This is an on going investigation and we believe a number of people witnessed it. We also believe that some people filmed the incident on mobile phones and I am appealing for those people to come forward to police with their footage. I would also ask that they do not share it on social media sites as by law victims of sexual assaults have life time anonymity."
Call Kirklees Safeguarding on 101 quoting log 1290 of Saturday 11 June.
A 32 year old man has been charged with attempted rape. Christopher Price, 32, of Paul Lane, Flockton, appeared at Huddersfield Magistrates Court on Monday and his case was sent to Leeds Crown Court where he is expected to appear on July 11th.
