Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was left in a critical condition and three others injured in a collision on Woodhouse Lane in Benchill, Wythenshawe.
Shortly before 4.45pm on Tuesday 14 March 2017 police were called to Woodhouse Lane at the junction of Hollyhedge Road, to reports of a collision.
Officers attended and established that a black Kia Picanto had been involved in a collision with a 27 year-old woman and her two-year-old son, who was in a pushchair, and a 47-year-old man and his nine-year-old daughter.
Ambulances attended and the man was taken to hospital. He is currently in a critical condition. The man’s daughter sustained some minor cuts and bruises.
The woman was treated for a broken wrist and her son was uninjured.
The 88-year-old driver of the Kia remained at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
Constable Ed Lister of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “My thoughts are with the man and his family at this extremely difficult time. We have launched an investigation into how this incident happened and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage showing the collision."
