Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted serious sexual assault in Leeds.
Leeds District CID would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which took place on Lovell Park, Grafton Street, shortly after midnight in the early hours of this morning (6/7).
It took place after the 20-year-old female victim was grabbed from behind by a man on a football pitch in the park.
The victim resisted and managed to run off.
The suspect is described as being a tall, white or light-skinned Asian male wearing a light grey coloured top.
Detective Inspector Phil Jackson of Leeds District CID said: “Enquiries are ongoing into this incident and the victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
“There are lots of access routes to Lovell Park and it is quite likely someone may have seen the suspect in the streets around the park or fleeing the scene.
“If you saw someone fitting this description behaving suspiciously in or in the area around Lovell Park, or have any information about the offence, please contact Leeds District CID on 101 referencing police log 30 of July 6.
“Information can also be given anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
