A new park and ride scheme is being planned for Leeds as West Yorkshire Combined Authority claims almost 6,000 vehicles were off the roads thanks to existing projects.
There are currently two schemes in place at Elland Road and Temple Green, with buses running to the city centre every 10 minutes.
The authority said in a statement that “in the past week alone, they took more than 5,780 cars off Leeds’ city centre roads”.
A third park and ride scheme is planned for Stourton, south east of Leeds, with the public being asked for their views on this at a series of events starting from this week.
