A man who accused takeaway staff of being Al-Qaeda terrorists has been sentenced.
Kirklees Magistrates Court heard that Marvin Birch who pleaded guilty to two charges of using racially-aggravated threatening behaviour walked into a takeaway on Market Street in Milnsbridge on September 19.
The court was told he became abusive, swearing and shouting that they all belonged to Al Qaeda when staff refused to give him a life home and pointed him in the direction of a taxi rank.
Birch, of Brunswick Street in Heckmondwike, was fined a total of £400. He must also pay £85 court costs and £30 victim surcharge.
