A teenage boy has died after a collision in Norley Hall, Wigan.
Shortly before 3.35pm yesterday, Tuesday 7 February 2017, a teenage boy was driving a black Yamaha south along Helvellyn Road when he was involved in a collision with a lamppost. He was taken to hospital but sadly passed away later.
Helvellyn Road remained closed whilst officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit carried out enquiries.
Sergeant Paul Higgins of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “These are tragic circumstances where a 15-year-old boy has lost his life. A family are grieving the loss of their son and specially trained officers continue to offer their support to them.
