An ex partner who stabbed a man to death in a jealous rage in Harpurhey has been jailed.
30 year old Ryan Donnellan, of Butler Court, Gunson Street, was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 25 years for murder at Manchester Crown Court.
On Monday 29 August 2016 police were called to Carslake Road, in Harpurhey to reports of a stabbing. Officers attended and discovered 30-year-old Steven Chadwick, with stab wounds to his stomach, legs and arm. He was taken to hospital but sadly died four days later.
Having learned that his ex-partner had begun a friendship with Steven, Donnellan demanded to speak to Steven face to face. He had armed himself with a knife he then approached Steven in the street and stabbed him several times.
Senior Investigating Officer Duncan Thorpe, said: "First of all my thoughts are with Steven's family who have had to go through the horror of his death all over again during this trial. This sentence will never bring Steven back but I'm glad we've finally got his family the justice they deserve."
