A 10-year-old girl has been recognised for her bravery as she made the vital emergency call which saved her mother’s life after she started suffering a fit.
Paige Matthews stayed calm as an emergency services call handler talked to her for nearly 10 minutes while waiting for the paramedic’s..
Paige will be given the Laverick Award from East Midlands Ambulance Service for her bravery after dialling 999 when her mum, Faye Snow-Tyler, had a fit while sleeping.
Paige checked her mum's breathing and heartbeat and kept her eight-year-old brother Shaun calm until the Ambulance arrived. Medical professionals stated Paiges prompt response saved her mums life.
