Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has reportedly escaped unharmed following a shooting incident in Mumbai. The incident has prompted fresh concerns about the safety of film industry figures, with an industry association calling for action.

Tiger Shroff Escapes Shooting in Mumbai as Police Launch Major Investigation

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has escaped without gunshot injuries after armed attackers opened fire at his vehicle in Mumbai, leaving two other people injured.

The incident happened on Sunday evening, 18 October 2026, near Pushpa Park in the Juhu area of Mumbai, as the actor was leaving after playing football.

According to police reports, three men approached on a motorcycle before shots were fired towards Shroff's vehicle.

The actor escaped without being shot, but his driver and another man were injured and required medical treatment.

Police launch investigation

Mumbai Police have launched a major investigation into the shooting, with specialist teams examining CCTV footage, witness accounts and forensic evidence.

Reports indicate that investigators have detained one person for questioning as they attempt to identify those responsible.

Police have also taken a statement from Shroff's injured driver, who has been receiving treatment at Nanavati Hospital.

Gang involvement being investigated

A social media message attributed to individuals claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.

However, police have not verified the authenticity of that claim, and responsibility for the shooting has not been established.

The incident has renewed concerns about the security of high-profile figures in India's film industry.

Bollywood industry reacts

The All Indian Cine Workers Association has condemned the shooting and called for stronger action to protect actors and other entertainment industry professionals.

The organisation has expressed concerns about threats and violence directed towards people working in Bollywood.

Investigations remain ongoing as Mumbai Police seek to identify and locate those involved.
