Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly filming the final stages of his upcoming action thriller, with a special sequence involving daughter Suhana Khan and speculation about a teaser release on his birthday.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly begun the final shooting schedule for his eagerly anticipated action thriller King ahead of its planned Christmas release.
The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, is entering the final stages of production, with additional action sequences and a special song featuring Shah Rukh's daughter, Suhana Khan.
According to reports published on Tuesday, 13 October, filming resumed in Mumbai on 11 October, with Shah Rukh shooting further action scenes at a studio in Andheri East the following day.
Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan share the spotlight
One of the film's biggest attractions is the opportunity to see Shah Rukh and Suhana together on the big screen.
Reports suggest that the remaining schedule includes an additional dance number designed to showcase Suhana's performance skills.
Choreographers Piyush Bhagat and Shazia Samji are reportedly working on the sequence, which is expected to be filmed at Mumbai's Film City.
Meanwhile, the production team is continuing work on the film's visual effects as the December release approaches.
Birthday surprise planned for fans?
Fans could receive their first major new glimpse of King on 2 November, when Shah Rukh Khan celebrates his 61st birthday.
Industry reports suggest the filmmakers are planning to unveil an action-packed teaser on the occasion, launching the film's wider promotional campaign.
However, the proposed teaser date has not yet been officially confirmed.
A star-studded Christmas release
King reunites Shah Rukh Khan with director Siddharth Anand, who previously directed him in the blockbuster Pathaan.
The film also features a major ensemble cast, including Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and Jaideep Ahlawat.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 24 December 2026.
The release will mark Shah Rukh Khan's return to cinemas in a leading film role following Dunki in 2023.
With filming approaching completion and anticipation building around the reported birthday teaser, King is shaping up to be one of Bollywood's most closely watched releases of the year.
