Monday, 19 October 2026 07:00

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has announced UNIFYD, a new international music festival bringing together some of India's biggest singers for a one-day celebration in Abu Dhabi in March 2027.

The festival aims to celebrate Indian music on an international stage, bringing together artists representing different generations and musical styles.

A star-studded musical line-up

Among the artists announced are Arijit Singh, whose romantic Bollywood hits have made him one of India's most recognisable playback singers, and Sonu Nigam, whose career spans decades of memorable film soundtracks.

Punjabi music sensation Karan Aujla will also feature, bringing his distinctive sound and international popularity to the event.

The combination of Bollywood playback music and contemporary Punjabi hits is expected to appeal to a broad audience, including Indian music fans across the Middle East and beyond.

Shah Rukh Khan's involvement

Shah Rukh Khan's association with the festival adds considerable star power to the project.

The Bollywood actor, whose career has produced some of Indian cinema's most memorable films, is closely associated with the music that has helped shape Bollywood's global popularity.

His involvement in UNIFYD highlights the growing international appeal of Indian entertainment and the opportunities for major musical events beyond India.

The announcement comes as Indian music continues to attract audiences internationally, with Bollywood soundtracks and Punjabi artists increasingly reaching listeners around the world.
