Ajay Devgn’s New Supernatural Thriller Gets Its Title

Ajay Devgn is heading back into supernatural territory for a new mystery thriller directed by Rohit Jugraj, with filming already underway.

Ajay Devgn’s upcoming supernatural thriller with director Rohit Jugraj has reportedly been titled Surya Prakash, after previously being referred to by the working title Griha Pravesh.

The film is described as a high-concept supernatural story drawing inspiration from the Garuda Purana, the ancient Sanskrit text centred around a dialogue between Lord Vishnu and Garuda.

Devgn is expected to play a mysterious, morally ambiguous supernatural character, although further details about the storyline are being kept under wraps.

Production began on 2 September and filming is expected to continue until November, with the makers targeting a cinema release during the second half of 2027.

The project is being produced by Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak's Panorama Studios in association with Devgn Films, continuing a partnership behind films including Drishyam, Raid and Shaitaan.

Rohit Jugraj previously worked as an assistant director on the 2003 Ajay Devgn horror film Bhoot, before directing projects including the Sardaarji films and streaming series Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein and Chamak.

Producer Abhishek Pathak has said the film's suspense will be driven less by spectacle and more by the questions it raises and the sense of unease it gradually creates.

One detail remains slightly unclear: the original report's page headline currently displays Suryasparsh, while its article copy and several subsequent reports call the film Surya Prakash. I would therefore use Surya Prakash for now but avoid describing the title as formally announced by the producers until that discrepancy is resolved.
