Shah Rukh Khan has given fans a fresh update on King, confirming the film remains on course for its December release despite injuries disrupting filming.
Shah Rukh Khan has confirmed that his much-anticipated film King remains on schedule for release on 24 December 2026.
The Bollywood superstar gave fans a series of updates during an #AskSRK session on Tuesday, discussing the film's progress, action sequences, music and the continuing wait for its promotional material.
Shah Rukh revealed that production had been disrupted after he suffered several injuries during filming, forcing the shoot to stop and restart at different points.
But he reassured fans that he has now recovered and said work on the film is nearly complete.
The actor also promised significant action in the film, praising director Siddharth Anand for the work that has gone into the sequences. However, he said he hopes audiences will enjoy the film's emotional and comedic elements as much as its action.
Fans also questioned Shah Rukh about the wait for King's trailer and songs. He indicated that material is still being worked on, including finishing touches to the music, and assured fans that promotional content will arrive ahead of the film's December release.
Another major talking point was King's crowded Christmas box-office window, with Hollywood blockbusters Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three also arriving around the same period.
Asked whether King risked being sandwiched between the Hollywood releases, Shah Rukh dismissed suggestions that the date could change and joked that his film was the “tasty tikki” in the centre.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King features an ensemble cast including Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi and Raghav Juyal.
The film is due in cinemas on Christmas Eve, 24 December.
