The musical journey for one of Indian cinema’s most anticipated films has begun, with A.R. Rahman bringing together Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal for the first song from Ramayana.
The first song from the much-anticipated Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi-starrer Ramayana has been released.
Titled “Jai Jai Ram,” the devotional track has been composed and produced by A.R. Rahman, with vocals from Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal and lyrics by Dr Kumar Vishwas.
Released on Ganesh Chaturthi, the song marks the beginning of the film's musical campaign and combines the feel of a traditional aarti with the scale of a major cinematic production.
The accompanying visuals also offer audiences a fresh look at Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita, including scenes depicting their wedding and other moments from the epic.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features a major ensemble cast, with Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The wider film score brings together A.R. Rahman and Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer.
Ramayana: Part One is scheduled to arrive in cinemas around Diwali 2026, making today's song release a significant new stage in the build-up to the film.
