Families and carers are getting together to celebrate 40 years of a Bradford Council scheme which provides them with vital support.
Shared Lives is an adult placement scheme run by Bradford Council's Adult Services. It provides long term and short term accommodation and support, short breaks or day time support for adults or older people or people with dementia.
The scheme in Bradford has been running since 1978.
There will be a celebration event on Saturday 29 September at Kala Sangam. It will also celebrate Time Out Bradford turning 35. Time Out is a service which provides support to carers and the people they care for.
Coun Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive member for Healthy People and Places, said: "This will be a great way to celebrate the Shared Lives carers and Time Out service who do such an important and valuable job. The dedication of the people and families who offer to care for the service is fantastic and this will celebrate their work in the Bradford district and work that has gone on for decades."
