Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in North Manchester.
At around 5.50pm on Monday 15 August 2016 police were called to reports that a 24-year-old man had been stabbed on Cooper Lane.
Detectives have established that the man had been riding a motorbike along Cooper Lane when a car collided with him and threw him from the bike.
Three men then got out of the car and stabbed him three times to the head with a small flick knife.
The men dragged the victim into the front passenger seat of the car and drove a short distance before they threw him out of the car on Delaunays Road.
The offenders left in the car and the victim walked to the hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries and is now recovering at home.
Detectives believe it may be linked to the firearms discharges in North Manchester last week and are appealing for anyone with information to contact police.
Detective Chief Inspector Rick Mortimer of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “We have a team of highly skilled officers working to identify those responsible. Fortunately, the man is in a stable condition and recovering well at home.
“I’d like to thank members of the public who have already come forward and helped us with our enquiries.
“We have executed a number of warrants and made eight arrests in connection with these incidents but our investigation continues and I am urging anyone with information to contact police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting 1718 of 15/08/16 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
