West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority (WYFRA) has invested over £500,000 in flood response equipment.
New power boats, flood response vehicles and protective kit has been purchased to enhance West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s (WYFRS) ability to respond in the event of widespread flooding.
The investment in flood response equipment will benefit not only the people of West Yorkshire should the region ever experience a repeat of the Boxing Day floods of 2015, as the new boats could be deployed anywhere in the country with WYFRS’ water rescue crews to assist areas hit by flooding.
