Hundreds of police officers carried out 20 warrants during a major operation targeting suspected serious criminal activity, resulting in 20 arrests and nine people facing a combined 49 charges.
Nine people have been charged with a combined 49 offences following a major police operation in Rochdale involving hundreds of officers and the execution of 20 warrants.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that 20 people were arrested during the coordinated day of action on Wednesday, 7 October.
The charges include allegations of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm, burglary, handling stolen goods, possession of offensive weapons, drug supply offences and offences involving criminal property.
Five defendants were remanded to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 8 October, while four others were charged and released on bail to appear before the courts at a later date.
Five defendants remanded to appear in court
Duke Scott, 23, of Manchester Road, Heywood, faces 19 charges, including two counts of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, aggravated burglary, weapons offences, handling stolen goods and several drug-related offences.
The allegations include being concerned in the supply of heroin, cocaine, cannabis, ketamine and MDMA.
Miles Scott, 21, also of Manchester Road, Heywood, faces 15 charges, including two counts of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, burglary, vehicle theft, handling stolen goods and drug supply offences.
Khalifa Adeoye, 23, of Hero Street, Bootle, Merseyside, has been charged with two counts of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine.
Owen Hartley, 22, of Ribble Street, Rochdale, faces four charges relating to alleged drug supply activity and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property.
Aaron Gurney, 22, of Rathmell Street, Bradford, has been charged with conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
All five were remanded to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on 8 October.
Four further suspects charged
Four additional defendants have been charged and bailed to appear in court at a later date.
Mitchell Walker, 23, of Sunhill Close, Rochdale, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Oliver Pilkington, 19, of Huddersfield Road, Brighouse, has been charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.
Jack Pilkington, 22, of Roch Valley Way, Rochdale, faces charges of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession of a Class B drug.
Jayden Faulds, 22, of Printon Avenue, Manchester, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
Investigation continues following 20 arrests
Greater Manchester Police said eight other people arrested during the operation have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
One person will face no further action, while two others remained in police custody at the time of the force's update.
The large-scale operation involved hundreds of officers executing warrants as part of an investigation into suspected serious criminal activity.
The charges are allegations, and none of the defendants should be regarded as guilty unless and until their guilt is established in court.
