A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was allegedly attacked with a hammer.
Police were called to Oakcliffe Road, Wardle, Rochdale, on Sunday night at around 8.45pm where they discovered the victim with serious injuries to her head.
She was taken to Salford Royal Hospital by paramedics, but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police told reporters “At around 8.45pm on September 25, police were called to Oakcliffe Road, Rochdale to reports that a woman had been attacked with a hammer.
“A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody for questioning.”
