The Forth Road Bridge is closed after a lorry blew over blocking carriageways.
At around 2am this morning the lorry which was travelling north was blown on to the southbound carriageway, damaging the central grilling.
Local police have stated that a 54-year-old man has been charged over the incident.
Concerns grow as heavy showers will be spreading southwards and a possible chance of lightening with potential disruption to power supplies could take place which inevitably will making driving more difficult.
“Be aware” warnings have been put in place until Friday for Scotland and the north-east of England.
