A teenager has been charged after an investigation into a fire at a church in Bury.
The charge is in relation to an incident at around 8.00pm on Saturday 22 December at Heaton Park Methodist Church, Bury Old Road.
Emergency services were called out to the church and a blaze was put out by the fire service.
Further enquiries carried out by police established that the church was broken into shortly before the fire occurred and a number of items were stolen from inside.
A 14-year-old from the Whitefield area – who cannot be named for legal reasons – has been charged with burglary and will appear at Manchester and Salford Youth Court on 21 January 2019.
