Bradford is hosting a series of events to mark Armed Forces Week 2019.
On Monday 24 June 2019 the Lord Mayor of Bradford will launch Armed Forces Week activities by holding a flag-raising ceremony in Centenary Square, Bradford at 11.00am prompt.
Following the ceremony the Lord Mayor will lead guests into City Hall for the ‘Remember Us’ event. The event pays tribute to and recognises the contribution and sacrifice of all veterans and pays particular reference to those from the BAME community.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Cllr Doreen Lee, said: “I’m honoured to pay tribute to the incredible men and women who serve in our Armed Forces as well as veterans who made huge sacrifices to protect our country.
“This year we will be making a special acknowledgement of the contribution made by BAME veterans and reflect on the impact they have made to our Armed Forces.”
On Armed Forces Day, Saturday 29 June, a number of special events and family activities will be held in City Park, Bradford.
