Woman Fighting for Life After Bradford Stabbing

A 40-year-old woman has been left with life-threatening injuries following a stabbing in Buttershaw, Bradford. A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon as police investigate two linked scenes.

A woman is fighting for her life in hospital following a stabbing in Bradford, which has led to the arrest of a man on suspicion of attempted murder.

West Yorkshire Police were called to reports of a stabbing at an address on Reevy Crescent, Buttershaw, at approximately 10.08am on Sunday, 1 November.

A 40-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for emergency treatment.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

Police have confirmed that enquiries remain ongoing.

Police establish two cordons

The incident prompted a significant emergency services response, with officers establishing cordons at two locations in the Buttershaw and Wibsey area.

The first cordon was set up around a property on Reevy Crescent, where police officers and detectives remained throughout Sunday afternoon conducting enquiries.

A second cordon was established on nearby Wibsey Park Avenue, where a section of pavement was taped off.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that both locations are connected to the same investigation.

However, officers have not disclosed further details about the circumstances linking the two scenes.

Residents report emergency response

People living nearby described seeing several police vehicles arriving and leaving the area throughout the day.

One resident told the Telegraph & Argus they had heard shouting earlier that morning but were unaware of what had happened until they noticed the police cordon.

Other residents reported hearing an air ambulance in the area.

According to flight tracking information reported by the newspaper, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance appeared to land at Fairfield Recreation Ground at approximately 10.29am before departing shortly afterwards.

Police have not confirmed whether the air ambulance transported the injured woman.

Police confirm attempted murder arrest

In a statement, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:

"Police were called to reports of a stabbing at around 10.08am yesterday (Sunday 1 November) at an address on Reevy Crescent, Bradford."

The spokesperson confirmed that a 42-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

Police also confirmed that the 40-year-old woman had been taken to Leeds General Infirmary with life-threatening injuries.

The force said enquiries were continuing.

Investigation continues

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and the connection between the two cordoned-off locations.

At the time of the latest police statement, no further information had been released about the woman's condition or the circumstances leading up to the incident.

Police have not publicly identified either the injured woman or the arrested man.

There has also been no confirmation of any charges.

Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
