Crossley Hall Primary School in Fairweather Green will be launching its ‘Dig For Victory’ booklet today which is a culmination of their history project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Visitors are invited to attend the event from 1.30pm onwards and can look forward to an abundance of activities taking place including work from Year 3 pupils who have been interviewing local people who lived in the area during World War II which will be presented in the booklet.
The day will also mark the official opening of the exciting new facilities at Crossley Hall which already boast an Anderson shelter and drama park thanks to the support of National Lottery players. The new and exclusive “Adventurous Learning Space” will be revealed featuring a wildlife area, story circle, forest school area, outdoor kitchen and sensory garden.
Councillor Imran Khan, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Education, Employment and Skills, said: “This project has really enthused the pupils. They have loved talking to the survivors of the Second World War about their experiences; it gives them a real feel of their heritage.”
