Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident in which two males were reportedly seen with a firearm in the vicinity of Northfield Hall Community Centre in Huddersfield.
At around 6.30pm on Monday, 29 February, it is reported that two males wearing balaclavas parked up in a silver Vauxhall Astra in the car park of the centre in Norfolk Avenue. They made their way over to a group of males stood near the entrance to the premises with one of the males pointing what was believed to be a handgun at the group. No shots were fired and the males made off from the scene in the Astra.
Detective Inspector Mark Colman, of Kirklees District CID, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of the community centre and who either saw the males involved or the silver Vauxhall Astra which they have arrived and left the scene in.
"Clearly any use of a firearm, whether discharged or not, is of concern and we would urge anyone with information which could help identify these males to please come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to call Kirklees District CID via 101. Information can also be passed anonymously to independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
