Police in Manchester are searching for thieves who abseiled into a jewellery store.
At around 2.40am on Tuesday 25 June police were called to H. Samuel jewellers at The Fort retail park in Cheetham Hill to reports of a burglary.
The offenders had entered by breaking through the ceiling and abseiling 40ft into the store before smashing glass display cabinets and stealing jewellery.
Early estimates suggest between £40,000 and £80,000 worth of jewellery has been stolen.
DC Atkinson from GMP’s City of Manchester Team said: “This was a well-planned burglary, the offenders knew exactly what they were doing.
“We have launched an investigation and we encourage anyone with information to come forward, these offenders were highly skilled, someone must know something about their plans.
“A large quantity of jewellery has been stolen and we would like any information that would assist with the investigation.”
