A new partnership bringing together Bradford Council, police, businesses and community organisations will begin a coordinated programme of improvements with a city centre Day of Action on Tuesday, 13 October.
A major new partnership has been launched in Bradford to make the city centre cleaner, safer, more welcoming and more attractive for residents, businesses and visitors.
The Bradford City Centre Action Partnership (CCAP) brings together organisations from the public, private and community sectors to tackle challenges facing the city centre through a coordinated programme of action.
The initiative aims to improve communication between organisations, share intelligence, address emerging issues and deliver visible improvements throughout the year.
First Day of Action on Tuesday
The partnership's first major initiative will take place on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, when organisations join forces for a city centre-wide Day of Action.
Activities planned throughout the day include environmental improvements, street cleansing, community engagement, business outreach, enforcement activity and intelligence gathering.
Rather than organisations working independently, the new approach will allow partners to coordinate resources and concentrate their efforts on areas where improvements are most needed.
The event marks the beginning of an ongoing programme rather than a one-off clean-up exercise.
Supporting Bradford's regeneration
The partnership has been established as Bradford continues to experience significant investment, regeneration and cultural activity.
Councillor Ian Walker, Bradford Council's Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Communities, said the city's transformation made closer cooperation increasingly important.
He said:
"Bradford city centre is changing, with significant investment, regeneration and cultural activity helping to shape an exciting future for our district."
Councillor Walker explained that the partnership would help organisations focus their collective efforts where they could make the greatest difference.
He also described the Day of Action as the first step towards long-term improvements, helping to build public confidence and create a city centre people could be proud of.
Businesses and communities involved
The Bradford City Centre Action Partnership includes representatives from local government, policing, businesses, city centre management and community organisations.
While participating organisations will continue carrying out their existing responsibilities, the partnership will provide a shared framework for identifying priorities and coordinating responses.
The initiative is also intended to support Bradford's visitor economy, encourage business growth and improve the overall experience of people spending time in the city centre.
Organisers say the coordinated programme will continue throughout the year, building on the investment already taking place across Bradford.
