Residents in Buttershaw and Shelf are being invited to talk about Blackshaw Beck, a natural green space on the border between Bradford and Calderdale, which has been the subject of complaints about fire lighting and anti-social behaviour.
A meeting will take place at St Michael’s Church, Carr House Rd, Shelf, at 7.30pm on Tuesday 14 August, when the Fire Service, police and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will meet with residents to look at both the issues and the value of the area.
Three ward councillors will also be attending.
Then on Saturday 18 August, a community action day will be held at the park, meeting at 10.30am at the Farfield Avenue entrance, where volunteers will be equipped to help clean up the area and learn about the diverse species living there.
Coun Abdul Jabar, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Community Safety, said: “This is a lovely area and we know that residents are concerned about the way it has been misused by an anti-social minority.
“We want everyone to be able to enjoy Blackshaw Beck and value it for the future as an important community green space.
