A man has died after being hit by a car on a dual carriageway in Salford.
The pedestrian, believed to be in his forties, was thought to be walking along Liverpool Road, in Eccles, when he was hit by a black Citroen car just before 6.15pm on Sunday evening.
Paramedics provided aid to all parties involved however the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “Police were called to a report of a road traffic collision between a black Citroen and a pedestrian near to the junction of Liverpool Road and Stadium Way. Sadly a man in his forties was pronounced dead at the scene”
Officials confirmed the driver of the Citroen remained at the collision until he was allowed to leave by the Police and is proactively helping with the on going investigation.
