Computer game designers at the University of Leeds are amongst a team of researchers creating a robotic arm for people who have suffered from a stroke.
The technology will be used to assist rehabilitation as the patient's arm is guided by a robotic joystick to complete computer games, gradually improving their strength and movement.
The team of engineers, medics and games designers say the trials so far have had promising results.
