Detectives have launched an investigation after a 31-year-old woman was reportedly sexually assaulted in Sheffield on Saturday evening (Saturday 30 July).
Officers were called to the Blonk Street area at about 5.50pm after it was reported that a man unknown had sexually assaulted the woman as she left a nearby apartment complex.
Detective Inspector Mark Monteiro said: “An investigation is now underway to identify the man involved in this incident and we have a dedicated team of officers working on this.
“The man is described as in his early 30s, Asian, of medium build and was reportedly wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt.
“We have officers in the area to provide reassurance to local residents and we will be reviewing CCTV footage to try and identify the man allegedly involved.
“The woman continues to be supported by specialist officers and I would like to ask anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or matching the description to contact us.”
