Homes and businesses in Cleckheaton were flooded after a water main burst.
Fire crews were called out this morning (12 April), after the pipe burst near to the town’s fire station.
The ground floors and cellars of three properties and a shop were flooded by a torrent of water.
The force of the explosion caused damage to the road and deposited mud on the street.
A fire service spokesperson said some homes may be without electricity for the foreseeable future.
