Five people have been arrested by detectives investigating a robbery at a convenience store in Leeds earlier this week and other offences that are believed to be linked.
Four men, aged 26 to 46, and a 43-year-old woman were arrested from addresses in the Seacroft area on Wednesday 16 January on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robberies and burglaries.
The offences include an attempted robbery at the Tesco Express store, in King Lane, Alwoodley, on Monday 14 January; a robbery at the Sainsbury’s Local store, in Moorgate Road, Kippax, on Saturday 12 January; an attempted burglary at Townsend Fine Jewellers, in Cross Street, Wetherby, on Friday 11 January; and an attempted burglary at Martin Wood Jewellers, in Westgate, Wetherby on Wednesday, 9 January.
A white Ford Kuga has also been recovered as part of the investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
