Over 150 people from diverse groups across Bradford have signed up to attend a ‘Driving for cohesion’ event taking place at Lister Park on Saturday 18 August.
Organised by Bradford West area Co-ordinators Office, the event is being held to encourage different communities to come together and share their passion for making a difference.
The council says there will be the opportunity to race go-karts, take part in community games, crafts and a street party lunch, whilst talking about Bradford and what can be done together to make it an even more cohesive and vibrant place to live.
Coun Mohammed Amran, chair of Bradford West Area Committee said: “This project has been working with residents to celebrate their own identity and recognise the similarities that unite them with other communities in Bradford West. The go-kart workshops which have taken place with local groups were designed to promote discussion about identity, community and Bradford.”
