The ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy is coming to Bradford College.
Students at the college will be able to have their photos taken with the trophy when it visits the David Hockney Building on Great Horton Road this Thursday afternoon (11 April) from 1.00pm to 4.00pm in the Michele Sutton Lecture Theatre.
The trophy is on a 100-day tour of the UK to promote the World Cup which takes place in England and Wales this summer and the college says the stop-off has been arranged “to tap into growing participation in the sport among students”.
Chris Taylor, Enrichment Engagement Officer at Bradford College, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming the ICC World Cricket World Cup Trophy into College.
“There is great enthusiasm for the sport among our students and this is a wonderful opportunity for them to see an iconic sporting trophy up close and celebrate one of the world’s biggest sporting events taking place on their doorstep.”
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is scheduled to be hosted by England and Wales, from 30 May to 14 July 2019 when the final is played at Lord’s in London.
