The Bradford Mela could make a return in 2019 if a pilot event proves successful next week.
The mela, which was set up in 1988 as a celebration of South Asian culture, was cancelled in 2012 after it was called off due to heavy rain. It has since been incorporated into Bradford Festival.
A Make Your Mela day is to be held on Thursday 16 August in City Park and is being viewed as a consultation event to see if the full Mela could make a return.
