A 36-year-old Bradford man who harassed a teenage girl and groped her on two occasions has been spared an immediate custodial sentence.
Bradford Crown Court heard that in June Sajid Hussain began following the 16-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, waiting around for her at Frizinghall railway station before his creepy behaviour escalated in August when he groped her on two occasions.
The court was told that on one occasion Sajid, who lives in Highfield Road, Frizinghall, put his arm around the teenager and touched her bottom and bosom over her clothing while she was on the platform.
The court heard that Hussain whose behaviour was caught on CCTV footage pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment and two allegations of sexual touching
Hussain was sentenced to a total of seven months in jail, suspended for two years, and was also made the subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order which bans him from going onto Frizinghall station between 6pm and 8am and bans him from contacting the victim.
Hussain will have to register as a sex offender with the police for the next 10 years, he will also have to do 150 hours unpaid work for the community and he will have to comply with a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
