The Lord Mayor of Bradford made a special presentation to one of the UK's leading classic car racers in City Park.
Andy ‘Ace’ Harrison, based in Shipley, has been invited to race his historic Mini Cooper at the prestigious Goodwood Revival this September as one of the top classic car drivers in the country.
He will be racing alongside professional driver and former F1 assistant team manager, Tony Jardine, over two days at the event.
The Lord Mayor, Coun Zafar Ali, met with Andy to wish him well and present him with a special Brad Bear teddy mascot who will race with the pair on the day.
The Lord Mayor, Coun Zafar Ali, said: “We’re proud that Andy, a Bradford local, has been invited along to this prominent event on the motorsports calendar. His Mini Cooper looks like a fantastic car and it’s a shame I won’t get to see it in action. However, Brad Bear will be alongside Andy on the day and we hope that his new mascot will bring him plenty of luck over the weekend!”
Andy Harrison, said: “I am extremely honoured and proud that the Lord Mayor and my City have recognised me with this invite. I’m extremely proud to represent Bradford at Goodwood.”
