The company hired to hand out fines to litterers in Bradford has pulled out of its contract.
3GS officers have been patrolling the streets after having been awarded the contract in 2017. The number of people fined for littering sharply rose, and the amount of people prosecuted for littering went from just two in 2016 to almost 850 last year.
However, during a discussion at a Bradford Council meeting about expanding the firm’s reach into the district’s suburbs, it was announced 3GS have pulled out of the contract after claiming it was “not profitable enough”.
Council wardens will now take over the roles.
