Bradford Council has unveiled a new framework setting out a five-year vision to strengthen community cohesion and create safer, more inclusive neighbourhoods.
A new Community Cohesion Framework has been developed for the Bradford district, aiming to build stronger, safer and more connected communities where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
The framework, co-produced with local communities and partners, sets a five-year vision for promoting integration and positive interactions across the district. It builds on existing good practice and long-standing partnerships with the public and private sectors, voluntary and community organisations, and faith groups.
If approved by the Council’s Executive, the strategy will be supported by the creation of a Stronger Communities Partnership Board, tasked with driving forward delivery of the framework and ensuring its aims are met.
Cllr Kamran Hussain, Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Community Safety, said:
“This framework draws on past experience while embedding cohesion into the district’s future growth. Everyone has a role to play in building cohesive communities, and this approach strengthens partnership working by focusing on belonging, trust, fairness and pride. We want Bradford to remain a place where all communities are celebrated, connections are built, and everyone has the chance to thrive.”
