A banned driver continued to lead police in a high-speed chase even after his vehicle tyre burst, Bradford Crown Court heard on Wednesday.
19-year-old Brodie Nolan, ignored a Give Way junction, narrowly avoided collisions and sped up to 73mph in his silver Honda Civic through areas of Bradford after being spotted by a police officer on Reevy Road.
The incident which took place on 19th of October at around 6:45pm saw Nolan dangerously driving in and out of traffic, bursting his front tyre which then caused smoke to pour from the car.
Nolan, of Bell Lane, Ackworth, Pontefract, had previously been banned from driving because of having more than 12 penalty points.
He has been sentenced to 12 months custody in a young offender institution, suspended for two years, 200 hours of unpaid work, banned from driving for 18 months and has to take an extended re-test to get his licence back.
