He is one actor who does not mind having a cup of tea at the consulate.
Om Puri has been a part of the Indian film industry for as long as we can remember and now, his upcoming Pakistani film, Actor in Law is set for release and the veteran actor is busy with promotions. The actor was in Dubai recently where he spoke to Khaleej Times about the movie and its cast and crew. He reveals that while he has never promoted any of his Indian films before, he is more than happy to promote this film because the cast and crew had become family to him!
"This is the first time I have worked in a Pakistani film. I have seen a couple of their films before; the first one was Khuda Ke Liye, which was released in India and it did great business. It was a very mature film except for one thing which I didn't like - Naseeruddin Shah's beard. Then, I saw Bol, which was an amazing film. It had wonderful performances by the entire cast and crew. The movie was flawless. I would say it's on par with any good American or Spanish film. The good news is that Pakistani cinema is maturing day by day. This team (Actor in Law) also has done a great job. The story can be understood by everybody. We are not trying to preach anything. It's a very human film and apart from wonderful performances, it also has something meaningful to say," the veteran actor said.
