A new digital radio multiplex has launched in Halifax, expanding listening choice across Calderdale with a range of local and culturally diverse stations.
A new era of digital radio has arrived in Calderdale with the official launch of the Halifax DAB multiplex.
The new service is set to deliver greater choice, improved sound quality and enhanced listening experiences for audiences across Halifax and surrounding areas. The multiplex brings together a strong line-up of stations, combining established local favourites with new digital services.
Stations now broadcasting include Sunrise Radio, already well known across Calderdale on 100.6 FM, alongside Sunrise Radio Gold, which offers a nostalgic mix of classic Asian hits. Also joining the platform are Phoenix Radio, a long-standing community station, and Culture City Radio, which reflects the region’s diverse cultural landscape.
The launch marks a significant milestone for local broadcasting, ensuring listeners can access a wider variety of programming with clearer reception at the touch of a button.
Raj Parmar, Director, said the launch represents a major step forward for local radio in Calderdale, bringing together established broadcasters and new services while supporting community-focused and culturally diverse programming.
Listeners can access the new services by tuning their DAB digital radios to the Halifax multiplex, which provides reliable coverage across the area.
