"I will not rejoice in bloodshed and war", wrote the actress.
Last few weeks wrecked a havoc in the lives of Pakistani artistes as Pakistan and India got into an unforeseen political rift. While majority of Pakistan expected them to denounce their Bollywood careers and chant "Pakistan Zindabad" while they were at it, the Indian audience demanded that they condemn the Uri attack openly - an attack for which India openly blamed Pakistan.
The Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) banned any Pakistani talent from working in India - move that was welcomed by more than a handful of Bollywood stars. Of course then Pakistani cinema owners reciprocated with an equally intense action and united to put a stop on screening Indian films. Amidst all of the commotion, while Bollywood's stance has remained largely divided, few Pakistani artists have called for peace but most chose to remain silent.
However, it seems our actors have finally decided to put their thoughts into words. We saw Fawad Khan issue a public statement, which has been labeled significantly 'diplomatic' by his fans, just yesterday and now Mahira Khan, the leading lady of Raees, took to Facebook to finally break her silence.
