Kill Terrorists, Not Talks: Filmmaker's plea to both nations' governments.
Renowned Bollywood director-producer Mahesh Bhatt has always been a strong advocate of Pakistani talent and cross-border collaborations. The film-maker, who has hits such as Arth, Aashiqui and Dil Hai Kai Manta Nahi amongst numerous others under his belt, also has fans and friends on both sides of the border. He was invited to Lahore by Humayun Saeed when his film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani was releasing, and we also heard that Bhatt offered Saeed a role as well in his Punjabi film, Dushman - the actor couldn't accept the offer due to project timing clashes.
However, the way recent events have transpired - with Indian attacks in Kashmir and Pakistani artists facing a ban in India - Bhatt felt the need to take to Twitter to convey an important message to the governments of both countries.
Bhatt made his stand clear by saying that the actions of a few violent men should not be allowed to dictate the future of all those people who want peace. If Twitter was not enough, he even changed his profile picture on Facebook to an image displaying a hand-written note in which he hashtagged "kill terrorists not talks".
