Amitabh Bachchan Greets Fans Behind Bulletproof Glass

Wednesday, 4 November 2026 at 06:00

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has surprised fans by greeting them from behind a bulletproof glass enclosure outside his Mumbai home. The unusual security precaution comes amid growing concerns about threats and attacks involving Bollywood celebrities.

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has sparked concern among fans after appearing behind bulletproof glass during his traditional Sunday greeting outside his Mumbai residence.

The 84-year-old actor, who has greeted crowds outside his Jalsa bungalow for decades, appeared on 1 November inside a transparent protective enclosure.

His son, Abhishek Bachchan, was also present, keeping a close watch on the security arrangements.

Heightened security in Bollywood

The unusual precaution follows reports of threats and attacks involving prominent Bollywood personalities, including a recent shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff.

Despite the additional security, Amitabh continued his long-standing tradition of waving to the fans who gather outside his home every Sunday.

Images and videos of the appearance have attracted widespread attention.

Film industry appeals to Prime Minister

The All Indian Cine Workers Association has now written to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling for greater protection for actors, filmmakers and their families.

In its letter dated 3 November, the organisation raised concerns about shootings, threats and alleged extortion attempts involving members of the film industry.

The association argues that stronger security measures are needed to protect Bollywood personalities and prevent organised crime from threatening the entertainment industry.

The exact reason for Bachchan's new protective enclosure has not been publicly confirmed by the actor.
