Two houses were targeted by arsonists within minutes of each other in Salford.
Officers were first called to Long Street in Swinton at around 1.25am on Saturday, 10 June, following reports of a fire at a home.
Police have reported that an accelerant was poured through the letterbox of the property.
A man and a woman were hospitalised following the attack, for treatment to minor injuries.
The second incident took place minutes later on nearby St John Street, when the door of a house was set on fire, however nobody was injured in this attack.
Detectives believe both incidents were targeted attacks and a spokesperson has said that they cannot be ruled out as connected.
