Three Sentenced After Man Viciously Attacked In Front Of Two Young Children

Two men and a woman have been sentenced after a man was viciously attacked in front of two young children

Faron Wilson of Darley Avenue, Chorlton, Manchester, Denise Wilson of Godfrey Road, Salford, and Andrew Whalley of Godfrey Road, Salford were sentenced at Manchester Crown Court.

Faron Wilson was found guilty of Section 18 Assault and Section 47 Assault and jailed for nine years and six months, Denise Wilson was found guilty of 2 counts of Section 47 Assaults and a Common Assault and was sentenced to 18 months in prison, which has been suspended for two years, and Whalley was found guilty of Section 18 Assault and 2 x Section 47 Assaults and has been jailed 10 years and six months.

In the early hours of Sunday 29 March 2015, Denise Wilson was at a party at a house on Hebden Walk, Hulme when an altercation took place between her and another woman. Wilson was escorted outside the address where she proceeded to cause trouble and engaged in a fight with another female. Three men present intervened, resulting in Wilson leaving the location in a vehicle.

Later that morning she contacted her nephew Faron and partner Whalley, saying she had been assaulted by two men.

At 7am that morning, Whalley forced entry to the address at Hebden Walk, armed with hammers, and was joined by Wilson.

Inside the address a 23-year-old woman was punched by Denise Wilson. A 38-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were struck with a hammer by Whalley. Fortunately both men escaped with minor injuries.

At 9.50am that day, a 34-year-old woman was outside her home on Brackley Avenue when she saw Faron Wilson and Whalley running towards her holding hammers. They pushed past her and ran upstairs.

A 35-year-old man, hearing the noise, barricaded two children and himself in a bedroom but the door was broken down and he was viciously attacked.

Police were called and following an investigation, all were arrested.

Detective Sergeant John Seaton of GMP’s City of Manchester Team, said: "Both attacks were vicious but the second incident was particularly horrendous. Not only was a family home invaded by men wielding hammers, the attack happened in front of two young children."

"The victim was hit with such force, the claw part of the hammer stuck in his leg and he was dragged around the floor. He was then struck in the knee and the head before being left for dead".

"These assaults happened after Denise Wilson wanted revenge on those she felt had wronged her. All three simply did not care about the consequences their actions would have, especially on the children, and are now paying for what they did."
